As we move into the New Year we are facing initiatives that would significantly change our practices and reimbursement systems on both the state and Federal level. The major focus in the coming months will be here in Massachusetts with Governor Patrick's plan to control health care costs through a payment reform law.

Excerpt: BCBS Policy Review In June, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts had a policy review for Orthopaedics, Rhuematology and Rehabilitation. Board members, Samantha Spencer, MD attended in person and Drs. Richard Wilk and Charles Cassidy by conference call. They were the only non-Blue Cross employed physicians participating on behalf of the MOA and their colleagues.
